Wolf Pack sign C Scatchard to tryout agreement

Oct 17, 2007 - 11:32 PM HARTFORD, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Dave Scatchard is not yet ready to call it a career.

A veteran of nine NHL seasons, Scatchard on Wednesday signed a tryout agreement with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

Limited to 46 games last season due to injuries, including a concussion that shelved him for the final 32 contests, Scatchard recorded three goals and five assists with Phoenix. However, the Coyotes bought out the 31-year-old center's contract over the summer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

A second-round pick of Vancouver in 1994, Scatchard has appeared in 635 NHL games with the Canucks, New York Islanders, Boston Bruins and Coyotes, registering 125 tallies, 263 points and 1,017 penalty minutes. He enjoyed his best season with the Islanders in 2002-03, posting a career-high 27 goals and matching his best of 45 points.
