Toronto's Ray, Durie among CFL's best
Jul 8, 2014 - 5:01 PM Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray and slotback Andre Durie, Montreal Alouettes defensive end John Bowman and Winnipeg Blue Bombers kick returner Demond Washington were named the CFL's top players of the week for the second week of the 2014 season.Ray was named the Offensive Player of the Week after passing for 407 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-15 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was 29- of-37 passing and rushed for 34 yards.
Top defensive honors went to Bowman for recording five tackles and matching his career-high of four sacks in Montreal's 24-9 victory over the BC Lions.
Washington received the Special Teams Player of the Week award after returning a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown to help Winnipeg beat the Ottawa RedBlacks 36-28.
Durie, the Canadian Player of the Week, caught five passes for 77 yards.
