Harris, Sewell, Sanders named CFL's top players
Jul 15, 2014 - 8:06 PM Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - British Columbia running back Andrew Harris, Edmonton defensive tackle Almondo Sewell and Calgary kick returner Jock Sanders were selected as the top players for Week 3 of the CFL season.Harris earned the offensive and Canadian honors after rushing for 138 yards with a 58-yard touchdown in BC's 26-13 win over Saskatchewan. He also caught five passes for 65 yards and finished with 232 all-purpose yards.
Sewell captured the defensive award after recording four tackles, three of which were sacks of Ottawa quarterback Henry Burris, in Edmonton's 27-11 victory over the RedBlacks. He ranks first in the CFL with five sacks this season.
Sanders was given the special teams nod thanks in part to a 121-yard return of a missed field goal that set up a touchdown in Calgary's 34-15 win over Toronto. He also returned three punts for 34 yards and one kickoff for 19 yards in the victory.
