Als storm back to beat Ticats
Sep 7, 2014 - 9:37 PM Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - Tanner Marsh ran for two touchdowns and the Montreal Alouettes stormed back to beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 38-31 on Sunday.Jonathan Crompton passed for 206 yards with a touchdown for the Alouettes (3-7), who scored 28 straight points at one point in the second half to erase a 24-10 deficit.
"It's a good team in this locker room and I give all of the credit to them," Crompton said.
James Rodgers scored the go-ahead touchdown on an 83-yard punt return early in the fourth quarter for Montreal, which joined Toronto atop the East standings with its second consecutive win.
Marsh powered his way in from a yard out to make it 38-24 with 2:55 remaining.
Montreal recovered an onside kick to seal the victory after Hamilton quarterback Zach Collaros connected with Andy Fantuz for a second touchdown with 12 seconds to go.
Collaros, who returned from a concussion in last Monday's win against the Argonauts, completed 30-of-43 attempts for 338 yards with an interception for the Tiger-Cats (2-7).
Mossis Madu fumbled on the third play of the game and Montreal linebacker Winston Venable returned it 59 yards to the end zone for an early 7-0 Montreal lead.
Hamilton shook off the turnover and went on to score 17 first-quarter points.
Justin Medlock kicked a 47-yarder, Rico Murray returned a Crompton interception for a touchdown and Collaros found Fantuz for a 3-yard scoring strike to close out the frame.
The Ticats carried a 21-7 lead into halftime.
Montreal rallied in the third quarter, tying the game at 24-24. Marsh ran for a 1-yard touchdown and Crompton ended the third with a 10-yard scoring strike to Duron Carter.
"We gave them points in the second half and as a result, they gained momentum," said Hamilton head coach Kent Austin.

Greg Ellingson had 94 yards on five receptions for Hamilton ... Madu rushed nine times for 48 yards and caught six passes for 88 yards.
