Alouettes re-sign WR Green to contract extension
Jan 28, 2015 - 8:51 PM Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Montreal Alouettes have agreed to terms with wide receiver S.J. Green on a three-year contract extension.Green caught 53 passes for 835 yards and four touchdowns last season after registering 83 receptions for 1,197 yards and 13 touchdowns the year before.
"S.J. is a true Alouette," said Alouettes general manager Jim Popp in a statement. "He has proven that he is intelligent, dependable, tough, dynamic, and exciting.
"He is everything you are looking for in a player. We look forward to S.J. being a tremendous leader on and off the field, as we continue to chase excellence."
The 29-year-old Green has spent his entire eight-year CFL career with Montreal, helping the club win two Grey Cup titles. He has caught 368 passes for 5,518 yards and 38 touchdowns in 92 regular-season games.
