0 shoutsTORONTO (Ticker) -- Dominque Dorsey's 94-yard punt return for a touchdown led the Toronto Argonauts to a hard-fought 19-11 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday.
Dorsey's first-quarter return provided the only excitement for the Argonauts (3-3), who moved into a first-place tie with Montreal (3-3) in the East Division.
Mike Vanderjagt sandwiched fields goals of 46 and 37 yards around Toronto's lone TD to give the Argonauts a 12-0 advantage after one quarter.
After Alexis Serna put the Blue Bombers (1-5) on the board with a 39-yard field goal, Vanderjagt added two more field goals in the final 70 seconds of the second quarter to stake Toronto to an 18-3 lead at half.
However, after Vanderjagt missed a 48-yard attempt early in the third, Ryan Dinwiddie hit Romby Bryant on an 86-yard TD strike at 8:52 of the third the Bombers pulled to within 18-10, making it a one-possession game.
Winnipeg got the ball twice within the final three minutes trailing 18-11 after a single by Serna. Both times Toronto's defense kept the Blue Bombers at bay.
The Argonauts finally put together just enough offense in the final minutes, running out the clock with Vanderjagt's 57-yard punt single as time expired.
Dinwiddie finished 16-of-28 for 224 yards with two interceptions. Toronto quarter Kerry Joseph didn't fare much better than his counterpart, going 21-of-35 for 219 yards with an interception.
