late lead to claim a 66-56 victory over the Georgia Force in

With the win, Columbus (9-9) advanced to the Arena Bowl for the
first time.

The Destroyers, who also upset both Tampa Bay and Dallas on the

San Jose for the championship on July 29.

Early on, the defense was strong for Columbus, which held
Georgia without a score on its first three possessions.
Defensive back Jerald Brown added to that stellar start with a
54-yard interception for a touchdown early in the second quarter
for a 21-7 advantage.

Georgia (15-3), which had been unbeaten in its previous nine
home games, answered back when Chris Greisen combined with Chris
Jackson for a 23-yard scoring play.

However, the Force could not cut into their 35-21 deficit at the
end of the first half as Carlo Martinez missed a 47-yard field
goal.

Georgia rallied in the second half, grabbing a 49-48 lead on
Greisen's four-yard TD pass to Derek Lee with 9:28 remaining in
the fourth quarter.

Despite the loss of the lead, Columbus answered right back when
B.J. Barre tossed a five-yard scoring pass to David Saunders
just over two minutes later. The Destroyers' defense then held
on downs before Nagy found Damien Groce for a 24-yard touchdown
and 63-49 advantage with 2:42 remaining.

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Chris Greisen threw for six touchdowns as
the Georgia Force posted a 68-42 victory over the New Orleans
VooDoo, setting numerous Arena Football League single-season
records in the process.

Georgia set numerous AFL records for points scored in a season
(1,007) and yards in a season (5,175) en route to becoming the
first team to score 60-plus points in 10 games. Greisen's six
throwing scores gave him 117 for the season, setting another AFL
mark.

After Greisen connected with Chris Jackson for the only score in
the opening period, the Force quarterback threw for two more
touchdowns - one each to Troy Bergeron and Jackson - in a
56-point second quarter that saw Georgia take a 40-21 lead at
half. The second quarter was particularly good for Bergeron,
who ran back the first kick of the stanza 56 yards back for a
touchdown.

The onslaught continued for the Force offense after halftime, as
Greisen found Carl Morris and Jackson in the third period to
extend the lead to 54-28 entering the final period.

Georgia (14-2) became the first team to finish with a perfect
8-0 record against Southern Division opponents and will host a
divisional round playoff on July 8. New Orleans (5-11) snapped
a 1-3 stretch in which every game was played within six points.
