Gonzalez, O's blank Reds
Sep 4, 2014 - 2:20 AM Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Miguel Gonzalez tossed the first shutout of his career and the Baltimore Orioles blanked the Cincinnati Reds, 6-0, in the middle test of a three-game set.Gonzalez (8-7) struck out eight, scattered four hits and walked one for the Orioles, who have won eight of their last 10 games. Gonzalez fired 83 of his 117 pitches for strikes.
"(Miguel) is such a team guy, he's such a professional. That was a professional outing," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "He had a lot of things working for him tonight."

Dylan Axelrod (1-1) surrendered four runs on five hits over six frames for Cincinnati, which has dropped four of its last five contests.
