House helps Indians blank Twins

House combined with four other pitchers in a six-hit shutout as the Cleveland Indians took a 5-0 win over the Minnesota Twins in the second of a three-game set.House (2-3) allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five over 5 1/3 innings. C.C. Lee, Scott Atchison, Nick Hagadone and Bryan Shaw polished off the shutout.
Mike Aviles went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI while Zach Walters also hit a solo home run for the Indians, who have won four of their last five.
Ricky Nolasco (5-9) was touched for four runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings for the Twins, who have lost their past four games.
"I made a lot of good pitches," said Nolasco. "I would like to have a couple pitches back but overall I threw well."
Walters' third homer of the season, with two outs in the second, gave the Indians a 1-0 lead.
"He can hit it a long way," said Indians manager Terry Francona of Walters. "He's a strong kid. He's got a lot of juice in his bat and we're still getting to know him."
Carlos Santana doubled to start the fourth and came home on Jason Kipnis' double. Two batters later, Aviles singled home Kipnis for a 3-0 advantage.
The Indians tacked on another run in the seventh as Chris Dickerson singled with one out, stole second and later scored on a Michael Bourn single to give the team a 4-0 advantage.
Minnesota had runners on first and second with one out in each of the first two innings, but was unable to push any home.
The fifth inning again saw the Twins get men to first and second, but it was with two outs and Joe Mauer grounded out to end the frame.
Minnesota again left men on first and second in the sixth, before Atchison set them down in order in the seventh.
Hagadone and Shaw combined for a scoreless eighth, and Aviles led off the ninth with his fifth home run of the season.
Shaw set the Twins down quietly in the ninth to cap the win.

Cleveland has won seven of the 12 games with Minnesota this season ... The Twins went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and stranded nine.
