SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- The National League West Division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers activated righthander Jason Schmidt from the 15-day disable list on Tuesday.

Schmidt was placed on the DL with right shoulder inflammation on May 18 following his two-inning performance against the San Diego Padres, where his fastball barely registered 85 miles per hour.

Schmidt, who has missed the last 46 games, posted a 1-2 record with a 7.36 ERA through three starts after signing a three-year, $47 million contract this winter.

To make room for Schmidt, Los Angeles optioned reliever Eric Hull to Class AAA Las Vegas. Hull failed to make his major league debut, spending four days with the club.
