A's recall Figueroa, option Ross
Jun 17, 2012 - 5:37 PM Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Athletics recalled pitcher Pedro Figueroa from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday and optioned pitcher Tyson Ross to the River Cats.Figueroa joins the A's for the second time this year and posted a 2.00 earned run average with nine walks in 9.0 innings over eight games with Oakland before being optioned to Sacramento on May 22.
Ross was called up from Sacramento on Saturday and made the start for Oakland against San Diego. The 25-year-old right-hander allowed just two runs on one hit and four walks in 6.0 innings, but did not factor in the decision.
In 10 starts with Oakland overall, Ross owns a 3-6 record with a 6.11 ERA.
