Rays call up Archer to start
Jun 20, 2012 - 11:26 PM Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Rays recalled pitcher Chris Archer from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday and named him the starter for their matchup with the Washington Nationals.Archer is slated to make his Major League debut Wednesday, after the team placed pitcher Jeremy Hellickson on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with right shoulder fatigue.
The 23-year-old right-hander was 4-8 with a 4.81 earned run average in 14 starts with the Bulls this season.
