Orioles release Miguel Tejada
Jun 25, 2012 - 11:05 PM Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles released infielder Miguel Tejada from his minor league contract at his request.The 38-year-old Tejada signed a minor league deal on May 8 and hit .259 with 18 RBI in 36 games for Triple-A Norfolk.
The 2002 AL MVP winner hit .239 with four homers and 26 RBI in 91 contests for the Giants in 2011.
Tejada has a lifetime batting average of .285 with 304 homers and 1,282 RBI in 2,118 games with Oakland, Baltimore, Houston, San Diego and San Francisco.
