Cubs DFA Randy Wells
Jun 27, 2012 - 5:03 PM Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Cubs designated pitcher Randy Wells for assignment on Wednesday and recalled Rafael Dolis from Triple-A Iowa.Wells was 1-2 with a 5.34 earned run average in 12 games -- four starts -- this season for the Cubs. He pitched to a 7.15 ERA in the month of June.
Dolis, 24, has gone 2-4 with four saves and a 5.68 ERA in 23 relief appearances for Chicago this season. He began the campaign strong, but posted a 15.00 ERA over his last seven outings and was optioned to Iowa on May 28.
