Brewers call up SS Segura
Aug 6, 2012 - 11:06 PM Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Brewers called up shortstop Jean Segura from Double-A Huntsville on Monday.Segura was acquired as part of a trade that sent pitcher Zack Greinke to the Angels on July 27.
The 23-year-old went 0-for-3 in his only career big league appearance earlier this season.
In 102 games at Double-A, Segura hit .304 with seven homers, 44 RBI, 37 stolen bases and 57 runs scored. .
Segura will replace Cesar Izturis on the active roster. Izturis was claimed off waivers by the Washington Nationals on Monday.
