Padres release INF Bartlett
Aug 20, 2012 - 11:00 PM San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres released infielder Jason Bartlett on Monday.Bartlett, 32, was placed on the disabled list on May 17 with a strained right knee and was transferred to the 60-day DL on June 7. In 29 games with San Diego this season, he hit just .133 with five doubles, four RBI and eight runs scored.
Over parts of nine major league seasons with the Minnesota Twins (2004-07), Tampa Bay Rays (2008-10) and Padres, Bartlett is a career .271 hitter with 31 home runs and 286 RBI.
