Cardinals place Kelly on DL
Apr 17, 2014 - 5:22 PM Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Cardinals placed right- hander Joe Kelly on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained left hamstring.Kelly was injured while running to first base after dropping down a bunt in the fifth inning of Wednesday's loss at Milwaukee.
The 25-year-old has allowed only one earned run over his first three starts this season.
The Cardinals also optioned pitcher Keith Butler to Triple-A Memphis and recalled pitchers Eric Fornataro and Jorge Rondon from their top minor league club.
