Athletics extend P Doolittle
Apr 18, 2014 - 9:17 PM Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics agreed to terms with pitcher Sean Doolittle on a new five-year contract on Friday.The contract will run through 2018 with club options for both the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
Doolittle, who was converted from a first baseman to a pitcher late in the 2011 season, has appeared as an effective late-inning reliever for the A's. He has registered a 7-6 record and a 3.10 ERA with four saves in 122 career appearances.
The left-hander has earned one save and a 3.12 ERA while allowing three runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts across eight games this season for Oakland.
