Phils release OF Gwynn
Jul 28, 2014 - 11:12 PM Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies released outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. on Monday.Gwynn had been designated for assignment last Monday.
The 31-year-old hit just .163 with three RBI in 67 games as a reserve outfielder.
His father, Hall of Fame outfielder Tony Gwynn, passed away on June 16.
