Brewers acquire RHP Broxton from Reds
Aug 31, 2014 - 6:14 PM San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Brewers acquired veteran reliever Jonathan Broxton from the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday for two players to be named later.Broxton had a 1.86 ERA in 51 games for the Reds this season with 37 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings. He will join the NL Central-leading Brewers on Monday when they start a three-game series in Chicago against the Cubs.
The Brewers were in San Francisco on Sunday to wrap up a three-game set with the Giants.
Broxton, 30, has a 3.05 ERA in 531 career relief appearances for the Dodgers, Royals and Reds.
