Beltran's wife has miscarriage

Sep 18, 2014 - 4:07 AM St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The wife of New York Yankees star Carlos Beltran has had a miscarriage, the player and the team said Wednesday night.

Beltran wrote on Facebook that the couple lost a son.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Beltran, who had already left the team, would be allowed to take as much time away as he needed, according to the Yankees' official website.

Beltran and his wife, Jessica, were married in 1999 and have two daughters.
