Mets' d'Arnaud to have surgery

Sep 26, 2014 - 11:42 PM Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud will have surgery to remove a bone spur in his right elbow.

New York manager Terry Collins said that d'Arnaud had a spur break off the bone during Tuesday's game against Washington and he has not played since.

He will miss the final three games of the season and the surgery is scheduled for Wednesday. It will take around a month for him to recover and he should be ready for spring training.

The 25-year-old hit 13 home runs with 41 RBI and a .242 average over 108 games this season with the Mets.
