Phillies, Williams agree on $2.5 million deal
Oct 21, 2014 - 9:36 PM Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Jerome Williams on a one-year, $2.5 million contract, the team announced Tuesday.Williams was 4-2 with a 2.83 earned run average in nine starts for the Phillies after being claimed off waivers from Texas on Aug. 10.
The well-traveled veteran also pitched for Houston this past season and was 6-7 overall with a 4.77 ERA in 37 games, including 11 starts.
He has compiled a 48-54 record with a 4.40 ERA over nine seasons with the Giants, Cubs, Nationals, Angels, Astros, Rangers and Phillies.
