O's pick up options on Chen, O'Day
Oct 30, 2014 - 10:26 PM Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles have exercised the 2015 club options on the contracts of pitchers Wei-Yin Chen and Darren O'Day, the team announced Thursday.Chen was 16-6 with a 3.54 earned run average in 31 starts this past season. In three years with the O's, the 29-year-old lefty from Taiwan has gone 35-24 with a 3.86 ERA in 86 starts.
O'Day, 32, made 68 relief appearances in 2014, going 5-2 with a 1.70 ERA. The right-hander recorded 73 strikeouts and walked only 19 in 68 2/3 innings.
