Giants throw spooktacular bash for third World Series parade

Oct 31, 2014 - 11:12 PM San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - For the third time in five years, the San Francisco Giants dressed as World Series champions on Halloween.

The Giants beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in Game 7 of the Fall Classic on Wednesday night and hosted a victory parade through the city and rally Friday afternoon, celebrating a third title since 2010 with their fans.

The parade began near the waterfront at Market and Steuart Streets and continued down Market, concluding at Civic Center Plaza.

Players boarded double-decker buses and were showered with confetti, while periods of rain and an overcast sky didn't dampen the fans' enthusiasm.

Following the parade, Giants team executives and players addressed the crowd in front of City Hall.

Manager Bruce Bochy thanked his players for their "warrior spirit."

"They don't care if they're backs are to the wall. They don't care if the odds are against them. They come out and they play for you and they play for each other and they keep coming at ya," Bochy said.

Thousands strong made their feelings known, chanting "Keep Pedro!" for third baseman Pablo Sandoval, who is a free agent but said he wants to follow his heart when making a decision on whether or not to stay in the Bay Area. San Francisco mayor Ed Lee also said he'd like to see "Panda" remain with the Giants.
