Cubs, Cardinals to open 2015 season on Sunday night
Nov 14, 2014 - 4:56 PM Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals will play Major League Baseball's 2015 season opener on Sunday night, April 5.The long-time rivals were originally set to start the season on Monday, April 6, but will now do so in a nationally televised, stand-alone game on ESPN2. The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET.
It will be the first season-opening night game in Wrigley Field history.
The teams will then take Monday off before resuming the three-game series on Tuesday and concluding it on Wednesday afternoon. The original schedule called for Monday afternoon and Tuesday off before games on Wednesday and Thursday.
