Mets agree to terms with Parnell
Jan 7, 2015 - 4:17 PM Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Mets agreed to terms with pitcher Bobby Parnell on a one-year contract Wednesday.Parnell, 30, appeared in one game last year before undergoing season-ending elbow surgery. The right-hander may not be ready for the start of the season, but he is reportedly progressing as scheduled. When healthy, he is expected to vie as the Mets' closer, a role he held before his injury.
For his career, Parnell is 18-24 with a 3.57 ERA and 36 saves in 299 games, eight starts.
Parnell was one of six arbitration eligible players for the Mets.
