White Sox, Viciedo avoid arbitration

Jan 12, 2015 - 11:05 PM Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago White Sox and outfielder Dayan Viciedo have agreed to contract terms for the upcoming season.

Viciedo, entering his second year of four as an arbitration-eligible player, will earn $4.4 million in 2015.

The Cuban defector hit 21 home runs with 58 RBI and a .231 average over 145 games in 2014. Viciedo, 25, has averaged 20 homers and 64 RBI through his first three full seasons in the majors.

Viciedo started 125 games between right and left field last season, but is currently ticketed for a reserve role with Chicago's acquisition of free agent Melky Cabrera and the return of Avisail Garcia from a shoulder injury.
