Orioles reach deal with Gonzalez
Feb 4, 2015 - 1:32 AM Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles and pitcher Miguel Gonzalez avoided arbitration Tuesday by agreeing to terms on a one-year contract.MASN.com reported the deal to be worth $3.275 million in Gonzalez's first year as arbitration-eligible.
Gonzalez has gone 30-21 with a 3.45 ERA over his first three seasons in the majors, all with Baltimore. The 30-year-old right-hander went 11-8 with a 3.78 ERA over 28 starts and two relief outings in 2013, then followed up with a 10-9 record and a 3.23 ERA in 27 appearances (26 starts) for the AL East champion Orioles last year.
Baltimore has still yet to reach agreements with two other arbitration- eligibles, closer Zach Britton and outfielder Alejandro De Aza.
