Cards sign P Villanueva to minor-league deal
Feb 4, 2015 - 6:48 PM St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Cardinals signed pitcher Carlos Villanueva to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training on Wednesday.The right-hander appeared in 42 games, with five starts, last season for the Cubs, going 5-7 with a 4.64 ERA.
Over nine seasons with the Brewers, Blue Jays and Cubs, Villanueva is 45-50 with a 4.26 ERA, appearing in 390 games, including 76 starts.
