Mets' Edgin to have Tommy John surgery
Mar 15, 2015 - 5:29 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Mets reliever Josh Edgin will undergo Tommy John surgery and will miss the 2015 season.Edgin was likely going to be the Mets' only left-handed reliever entering the season. He underwent tests earlier this week, revealing a damaged ligament in the elbow.
The 28-year-old was quoted on the Mets' website as saying it was the "best decision for my future."
Edgin appeared in a career-high 47 games last year and posted a record of 1-0 with a 1.32 ERA, fanning 28 in 27 1/3 innings. He has a mark of 3-3 with a 3.20 ERA in 115 games out of the bullpen over the last three seasons.
