Miami SS Hechavarria wins NL Player of the Week

Apr 27, 2015 - 7:41 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Miami Marlins shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria was named National League Player of the Week for the period ending April 26.

The 26-year-old star defender was 12-for-24, drove in an NL-best 10 runs and scored eight himself with a .520 on-base percentage and .750 slugging percentage. His on-base mark ranked second in the league, and he was sixth in slugging to earn his first career Player of the Week honor.

Miami was 5-1, including a three-game sweep of the Washington Nationals, during the week.
