Yankees' Gardner named AL Player of the Week
Jun 29, 2015 - 7:55 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner was named the American League Player of the Week on Monday.Gardner batted .500 with 13 hits, two home runs, four doubles, six RBI, nine runs, five walks and a .581 on-base percentage in 31 plate appearances last week.
He finished first in hits, runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage (.885) and total bases (23) in the AL, while tying for first in batting average, to claim the third weekly award of his career.
