A's scratch Gray
Jun 30, 2015 - 7:20 PM Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics scratched starting pitcher Sonny Gray from Tuesday's game against Colorado with flu-like symptoms.The club has recalled right-handed pitcher Chris Bassitt from Triple-A Nashville to start in his place.
Bassitt joins the As for the second time this year as he posted a 3.38 ERA in five relief appearances during his first stint from April 23 to May 10. He held opponents to a .135 batting average but issued nine walks in 10.2 innings.
In Nashville, the 26-year-old was 2-6 with a 3.71 ERA in 12 games, including nine starts.
