Umpire Hallion hit in mask by foul, leaves Rockies-A's game
Jul 1, 2015 - 8:29 PM OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) Home plate umpire Tom Hallion has left the game between Colorado and Oakland in the top of the first inning after getting hit squarely in the mask by a foul tip.Hallion was struck by a foul from Rockies slugger Nolan Arenado in the game Wednesday at Oakland.
Hallion was checked for several minutes by Athletics trainer Brian Schulman and was then led off the field.
First base umpire Alfonso Marquez took over behind the plate following a lengthy delay.
