Mets broadcaster doing fine after health issue
Jul 4, 2015 - 3:08 AM LOS ANGELES (AP) New York Mets radio play-by-play man Howie Rose is back in New York and doing fine, after an episode on the team's coast-to-coast flight in which he passed out from dehydration - forcing the plane to make an emergency stop in Detroit so that he could get medical attention.Rose is expected to rejoin the team when it returns to Citi Field for the start of a three-game series against Arizona that leads into the All-Star break.
''Bad time for him to pass out when I brought up the human sacrifice,'' joked manager Terry Collins, who had suggested the drastic measure on Thursday as a way to rejuvenate the team's struggling offense. It's a sigh of relief that he's OK.''
