Mariners recall Montero after deadline
Jul 31, 2015 - 11:33 PM MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Seattle Mariners have recalled infielders Jesus Montero and Ketel Marte and pitchers Jose Ramirez and Rob Rasmussen following a busy trade deadline.Seattle traded pitchers J.A. Happ and Mark Lowe in separate deals on Friday. The Mariners also optioned shortstop Chris Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma.
Rasmussen was acquired from Toronto in the Lowe deal. Ramirez was part of a Thursday trade in which the Mariners sent Dustin Ackley to the Yankees.
Montero and Marte are in Friday's lineup at Minnesota, with Robinson Cano (abdominal) and Logan Morrison (thumb) still out with injuries.
Marte is regarded as one of Seattle's top prospects. He hit .314 with three home runs, 29 RBIs and 20 stolen bases for Tacoma.
