Bowa, Samuel return as Phillies coaches under Mackanin
Oct 27, 2015 - 10:44 PM PHILADELPHIA (AP) Philadelphia Phillies coaches Larry Bowa and Juan Samuel will return for the 2016 season.The 69-year-old Bowa will be the bench coach under manager Pete Mackanin. Bowa has served as bench coach and infield instructor for Philadelphia since the 2014 season after previous stints with the club as third base coach (1988-96) and manager (2001-04).
Samuel has been a member of Philadelphia's coaching staff since 2011. He will coach third base after spending the last three seasons coaching first. He previously coached third for the Phillies (2011-12) and the Baltimore Orioles (2007-10).
The team announced the return of Bowa and Samuel on Tuesday.
