Texas (42-41) at NY Yankees (44-38), 7:05 pm EDT
BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- Ian Kinsler hopes to extend his hitting streak to 13 games when the Texas Rangers visit the New York Yankees on Monday in the opener of a three-game series.
Kinsler had three hits for the third consecutive game Sunday as the Rangers defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-1. The second baseman became the first Ranger since Alfonso Soriano in 2005 to collect three hits in three straight contests.
The Yankees, who will send veteran righthander Mike Mussina (10-5, 3.93 ERA) to the mound in this one, lost the finale of a four-game interleague series to the rival New York Mets by a 3-1 margin.
A 17-year veteran, Mussina will look to join Cleveland's Cliff Lee and Anaheim's Joe Saunders as the American League's only 11-game winners this season.
He will be opposed by righthander Scott Feldman (1-3, 4.60), who is seeking his first win since May 9.
Feldman lasted just four frames in Wednesday's 3-2 triumph over the Houston Astros, giving up two runs and six hits with two walks and a pair of strikeouts.
