Texas (43-41) at NY Yankees (44-39), 7:05 pm EDT

BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- Ian Kinsler will attempt to extend his hitting streak to 14 games as the Texas Rangers seek their third consecutive victory Tuesday when they face the New York Yankees in the middle contest of a three-game series.

Kinsler, who had three hits in each of his three previous games, managed just one hit Monday, but the Rangers held on for a 2-1 triumph over the Yankees.

The 26-year-old Kinsler, who is currently second among American League second baseman in All-Star voting, is batting .407 (22-for-54) with three home runs and eight RBI over his current hitting streak. He also has 13 runs scored and three stolen bases in that span.

Josh Hamilton picked up his major league-leading 80th RBI and rookie Chris Davis had a run-scoring double Monday for Texas, which climb two games above .500 for the first time this season.

Yankees starter Joba Chamberlain (2-2, 2.03 ERA) will try to shut down the Rangers' top ranked offense.

Making his sixth career start, Chamberlain is coming off his best outing since moving to the rotation. The 22-year-old righthander pitched 6 2/3 scoreless frames in Wednesday's 10-0 triumph over the Pittsburgh Pirates, allowing six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.

He will be opposed by righthander Kevin Millwood (5-4, 5.08), who was roughed up for seven runs and 12 hits over five innings during Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Houston Astros.
