Dodgers activate OF Jones, RHP Proctor

Sep 2, 2008 - 12:39 AM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers activated outfielder Andruw Jones and righthander Scott Proctor from the 15-day disabled list on Monday.

Jones has been on the disabled list twice this year with knee injuries, undergoing cartilage surgery in June and, most recently, since August 12 with patellar tendinitis. The 31-year-old hit .323 in 11 games with four home runs for Las Vegas.

Jones, who signed a two-year, $36.2 million deal in the offseason, is batting .161 with three homers and 14 RBI in 74 games.

Meanwhile, Proctor, 31, is 1-0 with a 6.82 ERA in 33 appearances with Los Angeles this season. He had been sidelined since June 22 with tendinitis in his pitching elbow.

In a corresponding move, the Dodgers activated outfielder Delwyn Young from the 15-day disabled list. Young had been out since July 24 with a right oblique strain.

Los Angeles also recalled lefthander Eric Stults, righthander James McDonald and outfielder Jason Repko from Class AAA Las Vegas. Stults, 28, will be making his third stint in Los Angeles this season. He is 2-2 with a 3.18 ERA and a complete-game shutout with the Dodgers. The 28-year-old went 7-7 with a 3.82 ERA with the 51s.

McDonald, 23, who started the season at Class AA Jacksonville, has yet to appear in a major-league game. He was 5-3 with a 3.19 ERA with the Suns, and 3-1 with a 3.63 ERA with Las Vegas.

Repko had one brief stint with the Dodgers in early July and went hitless in seven at-bats. The 27-year-old was hitting .283 with 12 homers, 50 RBI and 20 steals with Las Vegas.
