past Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk into 49th on the all-time
list.  Tim Raines is 48th with 2,502 games played. ... DH Jim 
Thome needs one home run to tie Mickey Mantle (536) for 14th 
place on the all-time home run list. ... OF Carlos Quentin has 
36 home runs and is attempting to become the first White Sox 
player since Dick Allen in 1972 to lead the American League in 
homers.  Allen (37) and Bill Melton (33 in 1971) are the only 
White Sox players to lead the AL in home runs.
