distance of the franchise's all-time record for consecutive 
wins, 13.  The club has accomplished the feat twice, first in 
1942 (April 18 to May 2) and then again in 1951 (August 1-15).  
After a day off on Thursday, they start a three-game series at 
home against the worst team in the American League, the Seattle 
Mariners ... 3B Andy Marte had two hits on Wednesday, lifting 
his batting average above the .200 mark for the first time since
April 8 ... RHP Jensen Lewis had a rare off-night on Wednesday, 
giving up a pair of runs on a two-run homer by Magglio Ordonez 
in a non-save situation in the ninth.  Over his previous 12 
outings, he had given up one run, registering a 0.66 ERA and 
seven saves in that span.
