West, Pacers top Knicks

Mar 8, 2015 - 7:43 AM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - David West had 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks 92-86 on Saturday night.

Rodney Stuckey netted 17 points off the bench and George Hill added 15 for the Pacers, who have won five straight and eight of their last nine games.

"Proud of our defensive effort. We needed it. We had a tough shooting night," Indiana coach Frank Vogel said.

Andrea Bargnani tallied 21 points to lead New York, which has dropped three consecutive contests.

"We competed from the 1st minute to the last minute. We came up short, but we're satisfied with the effort," Bargnani said.

After Alexey Shved's jumper staked the Knicks to a 73-67 advantage with 8:59 remaining, the Pacers answered with an 11-2 run to go in front. C.J. Watson recorded a 4-point play to cap the surge and give Indiana a 78-75 cushion with 6:36 to play.

New York's Jason Smith split a pair of foul shots to tie the game at 83-83 with 2:55 left, but Indiana closed the game on a 9-3 spurt.

Hill nailed a 3-pointer at the other end and two free throws preceded Stuckey's running banker that sealed the outcome with 23.3 ticks to go.

Earlier, the Pacers led 22-18 following a quarter of play, but the Knicks outscored them 25-16 in the second and were up 43-38 at the break.

Neither team was up by more than five in the third and New York took a 63-60 advantage into the fourth.
