Raptors go for franchise win record, host Bucks
Apr 14, 2014 - 2:31 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlantic Division-champion Toronto Raptors are still battling for the third seed in the Eastern Conference and will welcome the Milwaukee Bucks to Air Canada Centre Monday night. The Raptors are even with the Chicago Bulls for the No. 3 spot and have won eight of their last 10 games. The Raptors bounced back from a loss to the New York Knicks by handing the Detroit Pistons a 116-107 defeat on Sunday, as DeMar DeRozan poured in a game-high 30 points and Kyle Lowry tallied 28 points and seven assists.
Jonas Valanciunas scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards for the Raptors, who tied a franchise season record for wins (47) and have a chance to break the mark with two games left.
"That's big, to be tied with the franchise record and have a chance to break it. We've come a long way," DeRozan said.
Greivis Vasquez contributed 14 points off the bench.
Toronto and Chicago have two games remaining, but the Raptors own the tiebreaker advantage over the Bulls by virtue of winning the Atlantic Division.
The Raptors have scored 100 or more points in six straight games and are 25-15 at home. They have a 31-19 mark against teams from the East and are 12-5 in matchups with the Central Division.
Milwaukee is headed to the top of the NBA lottery list with its lowly 15-65 record and hopes to stop a 13-game road losing streak Monday.
The Bucks are 5-35 on the road and dropped a 104-91 decision at Washington on Saturday, as Ramon Sessions and Khris Middleton scored 20 points apiece. John Henson posted 13 points and seven boards off the bench in defeat.
"We tried to make plays that weren't there and they resulted in turnovers," said Bucks head coach Larry Drew.
Milwaukee is 2-15 in its last 17 games and will end the season Wednesday versus Atlanta. Bucks guard Brandon Knight (hip) is questionable against the Raptors, who are 3-0 against Milwaukee this season.
The Bucks had won 10 straight against Toronto until this season and have never been swept by the Raptors in a season series.
