Report: Kidd headed to Milwaukee

Jun 30, 2014 - 3:31 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - Jason Kidd's tenure as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets is apparently over after one year.

The Milwaukee Bucks sent two second-round draft picks to the Nets to secure the coaching rights to Kidd, ESPN reported on Monday.

Brooklyn initially requested a 2015 first-round pick as compensation, while the Bucks offered only one second-round pick at first.

Kidd's exit comes after his proposal for expanding his role in the team was rebuffed by ownership.

The 41-year-old Kidd went from player to coach practically overnight. He retired after the 2012-13 season and was hired by the Nets in June.

The Nets overcame a sluggish start to finish last season with a 44-38 record and reach the second round of the playoffs before losing in five games to Miami.
