Reports: Lakers win amnesty bid for Boozer

Jul 17, 2014 - 11:40 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired forward Carlos Boozer on amnesty waivers, according to multiple reports.

Boozer was available for silent bidding from any team with salary cap space after being waived using the amnesty clause by the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.

The amount of the Lakers' bid was not yet known, but it will help offset the $16.8 million the Bulls owed him.

Boozer, 32, played the past four seasons with the Bulls, averaging 15.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in 280 games. The 12-year NBA veteran holds career averages of 16.6 points and 9.8 boards over 790 games with the Cavaliers, Jazz and Bulls.
