Warriors ink Rush

Jul 22, 2014 - 7:08 PM Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Golden State Warriors have signed free agent guard/forward Brandon Rush, the team announced Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed per team policy, but the San Jose Mercury News reports that the contract is for two years and $2.5 million and includes a player option for the second year.

Rush, 29, returns to the Warriors after spending last season with the Utah Jazz, where he averaged 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds off the bench.

The veteran swingman was a part of last summer's three-team trade that brought Andre Iguodala to the Warriors.

Rush spent two seasons with Golden State and enjoyed his best season in 2011-12, when he finished with averages of 9.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 65 games. He was limited to just two games during 2012-13 after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee.

The Kansas product owns career averages of 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 329 games over six seasons with Indiana, Golden State and Utah.
