Cavs officially bring in Miller, Jones
Aug 5, 2014 - 11:43 PM Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - LeBron James is sure to have at least two of his buddies along for his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.As expected, the Cavaliers have announced the signings of swingman Mike Miller and guard James Jones -- both ex-teammates of James with the Miami Heat.
Miller, who reportedly agreed to a two-year, $5.5 million deal, played alongside James for three seasons with the Heat from 2010-13 and won a pair of NBA titles during that span.
The veteran sharpshooter spent last season with the Memphis Grizzlies and ranked second in the NBA with a 45.9 percent success rate from 3-point range. Miller averaged 7.1 points and 2.5 rebounds while playing in all 82 games in 2013-14.
A former NBA Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year, Miller has averaged 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 14 seasons and has shot 40 percent or better on 3-point tries nine times during his career.
Jones, a 40.3 percent career shooter on 3-pointers, was also a part of Miami's 2012 and 2013 NBA championships along with James and Miller.
The 33-year-old had spent the past six seasons with the Heat. Jones played in 20 regular season games with Miami in 2013-14, averaging 4.9 points, 1.2 rebounds and 11.8 minutes.
