Magic F Gordon has foot surgery

Nov 22, 2014 - 12:20 AM Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Orlando Magic revealed on Friday that rookie forward Aaron Gordon underwent successful surgery on a broken toe.

Gordon fractured a bone in his left foot last Saturday. An X-ray following Orlando's 98-83 loss to Washington revealed a fracture in the fifth metatarsal.

There is no solid timetable on his return to action, as it will depend on how well Gordon responds during the rehabilitation process.

Gordon, the second youngest player in the NBA this season behind fellow rookie Dante Exum, was selected fourth overall last June by the Magic. He has been a valuable player off the bench early in his career for his energy and defensive versatility.

Through 11 games, Gordon is averaging 5.8 points and 3.0 rebounds in 15 minutes per game. He scored a career-high 17 points in an overtime win over Minnesota on Nov. 7.
